My first travel to West Africa was 30 years ago as I joined a team of Engineers to go to the Ivory Coast in West Africa to help implement the first cellular telephone system in the Ivory Coast. I spent 2 years of traveling to and from Africa during the completion of the cell phone network. During my time working in Abidjan my wife and I were able to visit other African countries and especially fell in love with Ghana. Specifically it was because of the people, culture, and love of African art that led us to open a art gallery in Memphis Tennessee.
